Xcores consists of various teams that create a network of mutually assisted groups. Our Consultants are registered or potential researchers and professionals willing to do numerical consultancies. They are divided in two subgroups. Consultants for paid projects who have to prove to have expertise in the particular field they want to do the consultancy. At Xcores we operate three types of projects in order to offer our clients and consultants the project which best suits their requirements:

1) Private Projects - you will be selected by Xcores and recommended to our clients directly during a fully confidential procedure which does not appear on the website’s community wall;

2) Public projects - these are listed on the Community wall and you will be able to find descriptions and apply whichever project you are interested in;

3) Global Challenge projects - if you are registered as a consultant, you can also participate in short-term projects of global impact. This programme welcomes a team of consultants around the world who can combine their expertise, as well as PhD students who wish to gain experience.

A new opportunity for a research collaboration is now ready for application on Xcores! The job requires a full simulation (RANS or LES) to find moment correlations and forces around a bluff body geometry. The coordinator is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, and the outcomes of this project are publishable. At Xcores our consultants can offer four main types of services.

With the Full-Simulation service, the consultant will perform a full numerical simulation and conduct the post-processing of the data to meet the milestones agreed with the client. This allows the consultant to have complete control over the project and be fully aware of how the simulation process occurred.

With Xcores Revision service the consultant can receive and analyse data from an existing simulation and offer a second opinion.

With our Advice service, the consultant is available over the phone or email to offer suggestions over a technical problem related to their areas of expertise, including helping the client run their own simulation; the consultant does not receive any data but functions as an advisor to the client.

With Technical Coding, the consultant reads information relevant to a client’s project and writes an implementation according to the specifications of the client.
