I have over 16 years’ experience as a mortgage and protection adviser. I first developed my skills as a mortgage adviser whilst working for Barclays Bank. I worked there for 10 years before I was offered a step up in my career as a Mortgage and Protection Manager for HSBC. I spent 3 years working for HSBC until I realised, I was heavily restricted working for banks and wanted to be able to access a wider market to ensure I could offer my clients the most appropriate products and services. I then set up my own business 'Balch Mortgages' and now I can offer clients access to a wider range of mortgage lenders and products. New sign is up! 🏡💚

A small thing, but a pretty big moment for Balch Mortgages.

What started with me working from home in a bedroom and building the business one client at a time now has its own dedicated space! Seeing the name up on the wall makes it all feel very real.

Still a few finishing touches to go, but I’m really happy with how the new office is coming together.

A much-needed weekend off. 🏕️🏖️❤️

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy, and while I genuinely love helping my clients, this weekend reminded me just how important it is to switch off and spend quality time with the people who matter most.

Cece and I headed off camping with great friends and their children, while Whitney stayed home to get some well-deserved rest before the new arrival. It felt quite special knowing this will probably be the last proper daddy-and-daughter weekend we’ll have before we become a family of four. ❤️

Even though I was officially off, my phone definitely didn’t get the memo! There were plenty of calls, emails and messages coming through over the weekend, so I know Monday is going to be a busy one catching up with everyone.

If you’ve been trying to get hold of me, thank you for your patience. I’ll be working through everything as quickly as I can and getting back to everyone as soon as possible.

For now though, I’m just grateful for the memories Cece and I made together. These are the moments that remind me why finding the right balance between work and family is so important.
