EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION

High Peak Homeless Help provides assistance for homeless people and those experiencing housing-related issues — and to address the root causes of homelessness. If you need help finding accommodation in an emergency please call us on 07973 670595 or email [email protected]

Ideally you need to be referred by an agency such as Social Care, Citizen's Advice Bureau

, School, Church, GP or Housing Association etc. Call us if you're not sure what to do. We can also offer tenancy support if you are having problems with rented accommodation. We can help with food and use of computer or telephone. Never be afraid to ask for help and support. We may not have all the answers but we can help you find them for yourself. Even if we cannot provide emergency accommodation, we may be able to help you find a temporary solution. CAN YOU HELP US? Happy New Year!

Since Christmas we have, so far, supplied three tents and kits for sleeping in them, as well as hot meals for the tent users. We are also supporting 7 people who are currently living in their vehicle, or who are facing eviction or end of tenancy, to access appropriate help with accommodation. Thank you to all our supporters.😍

With the increasingly likely forecast of the first snow of the year this week, we are planning our Winter provision.

In addition to help with pitching their tent, we provide our service users with a hot evening meal, snacks and breakfast. Our co-ordinator works hard to to this but cannot be lone working in the dark evenings. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to be 'on standby' to support her when needed and to help provide a listening ear as well as practical support to our service users. If you think that could be you then please get in touch- we'd love to hear from you!

In July and August HPHH facilitated 407 tented nights across the High Peak. That brings the number so far this year to 519- greater than the total for the whole of 2023.
