I thought it was time for a re-introduction…
I'm Jo and I’m not your typical bookkeeper 👋
When I left school, all I wanted was to work for my dad. He ran a business he’d built from scratch after leaving the army and had one rule: never mix business with pleasure.
Eventually, he let me in but I had to earn my place. I started at the bottom, cleaning welding bays and the canteen. Then came admin, production, purchasing and sales.
Only after proving myself did I get anywhere near the accounts and that’s when I found my passion. I studied AAT while working full-time and by the time the business sold in 2015, I was running the accounts department.
Since then, there have been more challenges, more lessons and more growth. All of which shaped how I work today.
Before founding Sharp Bookkeeping, I managed the UK division of an international business, gaining even more experience of what it really takes to keep things running behind the scenes.
Why am I sharing this? Because behind every set of accounts is a business owner doing their best to make things work and I get that.
I understand the pressures, the decisions and the reality of running a business, not just the numbers on paper.
That’s why Sharp Bookkeeping isn’t just about bookkeeping. It’s about support, clarity and helping business owners feel in control.
If you’re looking for someone who understands both the numbers and the reality of running a business, I’d love to connect.
