I’ve been thinking a lot about how to give back to two causes very close to my heart after my breast cancer journey.
First, the incredible team at Salisbury Hospital whose care - not just the treatment, but their kindness, humour, and time - made a tough experience a little softer. I would therefore like to help the Stars Appeal who support the hospital.
And second, Breast Cancer Now, a fantastic charity funding vital research and awareness across the UK. They also provide really helpful, easy to understand information on every aspect of the journey.
I’m planning an afternoon tea fundraiser soon to support both Salisbury Hospital and Breast Cancer Now.
If you can’t make it in person, there’ll be a virtual tea option - you can donate for a cuppa and join in spirit.
I won’t lie, I’m a bit nervous no one will come, and I’m still figuring out the scale, but I believe small steps can lead to big things, and I’d be so grateful for your support.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please let me know - I’ll keep you posted as plans take shape.
In the meantime, keep checking your bits and being kind to yourselves and each other. It really does make a difference. 💕
This plaque marks the Berwick St John Country Fayre room in the Breast Unit at Salisbury Hospital. I’ve attended the Fayre for years and am lucky to be good friends with the amazing team behind it, so seeing the plaque in real life was genuinely humbling. It’s a lovely reminder of how communities come together to support vital care close to home.
