🫖Our Afternoon Tea Fundraiser is happening on Sunday 28th September 2–4pm at Buckhorn Weston Village Hall 🫖

🧐 Mum and I are planning cakes, teapots and tablecloths - We can’t wait to see lots of you there! 🥳

💰 We’re raising money for Breast Cancer Now and The Stars Appeal, two charities that mean so much to both of us 💰

😮Donations have already started coming in (thank you so much to those who’ve supported us already 💕). If you’d like to while you’re thinking of it, you can scan the QR code or do a transfer to donate the price of a cuppa. Every penny will be split equally between the two charities

It’s shaping up to be a really lovely afternoon. We’d love you to be part of it ☕🍰

Our Afternoon Tea Fundraiser is on Sunday 28th September, 2–4pm, at Buckhorn Weston Village Hall.

My mum and I are raising money for two amazing charities:

🍰 Breast Cancer Now – supporting research and people affected by breast cancer

🍰 The Stars Appeal – helping Salisbury Hospital do more for patients and families

We have created a Facebook Event to try and gauge how many people are likely to attend on the day so we know how much cake to bring! I will add the link in the comments, it would be handy if you can respond if you plan on coming along.

If you can’t join us in person, you’re still very welcome to take part by donating the cost of a cuppa online, I will post this link nearer the time.

Everything will be split evenly between the two charities.

Here is a picture of a delicious tea and cake break I was lucky enough to enjoy with dear friends recently to get you in the mood!

🌹 My mum and I are hosting an Afternoon Tea Fundraiser on Sunday 28th September to raise money for two brilliant charities: Breast Cancer Now and The Stars Appeal at Salisbury Hospital 🌹

🍰 There’ll be homemade cakes, tea, and hopefully a lovely big crowd 🍰

🫖 Can’t make it in person? You can still join us for a virtual tea by donating the cost of your cuppa online instead 🫖

👉 Pop the date in your diary — we’d love you to be part of it 😁

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to give back to two causes very close to my heart after my breast cancer journey.

First, the incredible team at Salisbury Hospital whose care - not just the treatment, but their kindness, humour, and time - made a tough experience a little softer. I would therefore like to help the Stars Appeal who support the hospital.

And second, Breast Cancer Now, a fantastic charity funding vital research and awareness across the UK. They also provide really helpful, easy to understand information on every aspect of the journey.

I’m planning an afternoon tea fundraiser soon to support both Salisbury Hospital and Breast Cancer Now.

If you can’t make it in person, there’ll be a virtual tea option - you can donate for a cuppa and join in spirit.

I won’t lie, I’m a bit nervous no one will come, and I’m still figuring out the scale, but I believe small steps can lead to big things, and I’d be so grateful for your support.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please let me know - I’ll keep you posted as plans take shape.

In the meantime, keep checking your bits and being kind to yourselves and each other. It really does make a difference. 💕

This plaque marks the Berwick St John Country Fayre room in the Breast Unit at Salisbury Hospital. I’ve attended the Fayre for years and am lucky to be good friends with the amazing team behind it, so seeing the plaque in real life was genuinely humbling. It’s a lovely reminder of how communities come together to support vital care close to home.

I’ve shared a bit recently about my experience with breast cancer — and one part I didn’t expect was how much comes after.

My path was surgery and ongoing treatment — no chemo or radiotherapy — so I know I’ve had it easier than many. But I’ve still learned how much there is to navigate.

I thought that life would click back into place fairly quickly and easily.

It didn’t.

My body’s changed. My energy comes and goes. Some days I feel strong. Other days I feel shattered and held together with caffeine and stubbornness. Scan dates sneak up. Tamoxifen is a whole situation.

This isn’t a moan — it’s just one version of what the after bit looks like. Still going. Still adjusting.

If you're going through it, or have been through it, I’m always happy to talk. Our experiences won’t be the same, but I know how much it helps to say the quiet bits out loud. ❤️

The photo is of me on a lovely sunny outing with my dad around 3 weeks after surgery, feeling fragile but supported by those around me and grateful to be out and about.

I was honestly blown away by the love and support after my Breast Cancer post — from friends, acquaintances, and even people I’ve never met. Thank you. ❤️

Moments like these remind me how brilliant humans can be to one another. Let’s try and continue to make that a thing.

A few people messaged to say it gave them a nudge to check themselves — which is exactly why I shared it. If you’re not already, I highly recommend signing up to the monthly boob-check reminders from CoppaFeel! (they just text you once a month and it really is a great nudge to get it done).

Yes, it’s a breast cancer charity, but it’s also a great prompt to check any of our squishy bits that might need some TLC - early detection saves lives.

Let’s keep looking after ourselves — and each other. 💛

The photo this time is of me at the start of a triathlon one month before surgery, knowing this would be my last event for a while and just having the best time - you might need to zoom in, but I am the one waving!

🏊‍♀️ Ellie and I have officially completed our Swim 22 Challenge for Diabetes UK!🏊‍♀️

Between the 22nd of March and the 22nd of June, we swam 11 miles together — the equivalent of halfway across the English Channel.

It’s been a challenge to fit in all our swims, but it’s also been great fun — and I’m so proud of us for seeing it through.

Together, we’ve raised £355 for Diabetes UK, in loving memory of Betty.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated — we’re incredibly grateful. 💙

Well done (and thank you!) Ellie 🥽💦

⭐ This is a tricky post to write ⭐

💗 A year ago today I underwent a mastectomy in order to get rid of breast cancer. 💗

👉 I have spoken about it privately, but have not said anything on here, partly because I didn't want to seem like I was looking for attention.

💗 However, it feels like the right time to share more publicly, and so over the next few weeks, I am going to share some posts, not for sympathy, but in the hope that they help someone who is going through similar.

💗 Cancer is a real sh***er, and it has far reaching impacts that you might not think about until you have been there.

💗 If I can make even one person feel less alone, then that's awesome. If I can raise some awareness, and encourage people to check themselves and go to the doctor if something doesn't seem right then even better.💗

🤩 The photo is me on a gorgeous holiday with my in-laws, between diagnosis and surgery 🤩

🐶 Four legged colleagues strike again 🐶

👉 I was once again lucky enough to take these two working (!) spaniels to a recent offsite strategy session with a client 👈

🤩 We intentionally met away from their usual workplace so we could block out day-to-day noise, and focus properly on the bigger picture — planning, priorities, and the road ahead. 🤩

🛠️ Huge thanks to J Day Engineering Ltd for the use of their boardroom — perfect setting for deep thinking (with the occasional wagging tail). 🛠️

🐶 I checked the client likes dogs — I promise they weren’t a surprise! 🐶

😇 They were once again as good as gold and provided a calming influence when things got technical 😇
