Some exciting news for First time buyers!
Halifax are launching a £5k deposit mortgage on Monday the 18th of May. That's £5k and not 5%!!!!. The maximum purchase price is £300k, so this is huge. 5% on a £300k property would be £15k, but they will be accepting just £5k deposits (must be own savings and evidenced, gifted deposit not accepted).
Affordability criteria still needs to be met and this is available to both employed and self-employed. Does not apply to new builds or co-ownership mortgages.
