Accidents don’t have to be complex to be financially disruptive - even a simple fall can mean weeks away from work.

In this case, a warehouse operative's Friendly Shield Gold with sickness cover paid a £2,000 fracture benefit straight away, followed by £2,915 in income benefit once the short 14 day policy waiting period ended. In total, he received £4,915.

That extra money helped cover unexpected costs like travel and parking for hospital visits - expenses that can quickly add up after an accident. His policy enabled him to prioritise focusing on his recovery.

Last weekend, our Friendly team took on the Bath challenge with a group of four completing the 29km run and one completing the 10km run on a challenging hilly Bath course, starting and finishing at Bath Racecourse.

The team was made up of representatives across the business and funds raised will go to our brilliant charity of the year, Prostate Cancer UK
