Today, stars aligned and I finally got the chance to visit my long term client Dr Gaby’s architecture marvel and award winning home ‘Solid House’. Pics simply do not do justice, every room was a masterpiece in its own right and whole house felt like a warm and inviting family space. It was such an honour to finally see it and it’s inspired me beyond words 😊

I always thought of Gaby as one of my best clients and When It comes to this house Gaby and I have been through it all together. The cards I pulled and stress I took onboard at the time to make the finance happen was a personal challenge and mission was accomplished . Years later the amount of word of mouth referrals I have been privileged to receive from Gaby and his family have been single handedly instrumental to the growth of Melba Broker. To put it in context 71% of brokers don’t write this volume in a year.

I wanted to share the story as I truly believe high quality business relationships are very rare to forge and all you ever need is few of these high quality partnerships and your business is off to very good start. Thank you Gaby for all your support, it means a ton to me 🫡

We are a small boutique brokerage of 3 with big aspirations and this nomination reiterates my decision to primarily move our firm to Bayside whilst keeping presence in Melbourne. With over $ 100m FUM, 65 * 5 star google reviews and a humble and hard working team I truly believe we haven't yet scratched the surface. With the support and trust of our valued clients, business partners , BDM’s and everyone who puts their faith in Melba Broker we will truly push to mark a much bigger footprint for us in Melbourne and Bayside over the coming years!

As a new office we cannot be happier and pleased to have achieved the finalist in this category 😎 🥰. It was lovely to finally catch up with my long term client Ruth since her recent travel adventures where she conquered her bucket list adventure of reaching Everest base camp 😳🙌🏼

There aren’t many people in this world that really inspire me but Ruth is someone who certainly has a view of living life to fullest and working hard and playing harder , someone who’s has a positive outlook on accomplishing what currently is unimaginable for me due to my poor fitness and lower back issues. Not only Ruth accomplished her goal of hiking almost 2 weeks to reach the base camp she has been skiing across Austrian alps since and is off to experience the Scottish highlands.

Ruth’s trip to Everest base camp wasn’t easy, she had to endure night temperatures of -10 whilst sleeping in basic tea house accomodations, hike 130 kms of mountainous terrain over period of 2 weeks starting from 3000 metres climbing all the way to 5500 metres where breathable air is super thin and experience all the discomforts of travelling remote however Ruth endured through and ended up with a fascinating story and an accomplishment to remember. She experienced some of worlds most beautiful glaciers, epic scenery , met diverse group of climbers and experienced Nepalese culture and hospitality at its finest. She completely switched off from the everyday life and enjoyed the moments. Now who doesn’t want that in their life’s?

Ruth has inspired me to build my fitness up and hopefully some day soon go and tackle what I think I cannot endure currently and tick my own Buckley list item of reaching Everest base camp 🫡

Congratulations to the newlyweds Charl and and Olivia on getting married recently in South Africa and settling on their family home not along ago 😍 Stars have been aligning and it’s all been happening for the good looking couple 🎉😁

Slight back story - Charl and Olivia’s approval was a breeze but a small clause in their contract meant their ultra arrogant conveyancer was able to charge a $1500 penalty just because settlement wasn’t booked 4 clear days in advance. That’s right, no other issues whatsoever and simply by not booking settlement 4 days in advance this conveyancer was able to apply the penalty and there was nothing we could do at all.

When I saw their settlement becoming a legal matter for no reason whatsoever I made an executive decision to offer clients an in-house rebate to ensure clients settle asap given one thing I cannot tolerate is seeing nervous and stressed out clients cause I do the stressing for them! Matter was promptly settled soon after and the lovebirds went on to celebrate their highly planned destinations wedding ✈️ ☀️ Congrats from the Melba Broker Team 🎉

We have good news for prospective home buyers. 🥳

CoreLogic’s Home Value Index (HVI) recorded a sharp reduction in the rate of decline through February.

The national index declined -0.14% over the month, the smallest monthly fall since May 2022 (-0.13%), when rate hikes commenced.

CoreLogic’s research director, Tim Lawless, said the stabilisation in housing values over the month coincides with consistently low advertised supply levels and a rise in auction clearance rates.

What to do about the fixed rate cliff? 📉

According to ABS data, fixed-term home lending surged to 46.0% of new mortgage commitments in July and August 2021, as fixed interest rates hit record lows. However, with around 23% of all outstanding mortgage debt set to be re-priced at much higher rates this year, borrowers will need to refinance their loans when fixed terms end.
