Preston Park Rockery and gardens

Preston Park Rockery and gardens Preston Rock Garden Probably one of the largest municiple rock gardens in Europe. Thanks for looking in.

Built in 1936 on the site of an overgrown railway bank, 1,350 tons of limestone was imported from Cheddar Gorge by train and unloaded via a specially cut out "siding" in the bank. The garden has unfortunately suffered from several years of non investment but we have turned the corner and now we are finally getting the garden how we want it. It's not finnished yet though and we have a 5 year and 10

year development and management plan. Please visit if you can....my number is below if you want to meet up and get a guided tour.

What a shame the snow brings out the complete idiot in some people. Snapped tree, loads of debris thrown on the pond and the bank turned into a muddy ski slope.

Had a donation from someone closing down their private pond.
Hundreds of beautiful goldfish which have settled in really well.

Still an incredible amount of colour in the Rockery. We were also delighted to see a huge bumblebee on the blue Salvia.

Despite the brutal draught we’re up against, there’s still a lot of colour around in the Rockery at the moment. Enjoy.

June is Rose season and the Rockery is no exception. I’ve managed to squeeze a few beds in plus a couple of climbers and some ground cover varieties.
Enjoy
