⚠️ Saltdean Undercliff path closure

From Monday 7 September, the undercliff path will temporarily end at the Brighton & Hove City Council boundary for around four weeks to allow for essential sea defence maintenance and the construction of an undercliff kerbed planter.

The planter will increase biodiversity with vegetated shingle plants and will provide some protection against falling chalk and stones by keeping path users away from the cliff base.

Warning signs are in place to advise where the path is closed for these essential works to take place.

We’re also seeking views on a proposed outdoor calisthenics gym at East Saltdean Undercliff. Take the survey by 14 September using the link in the comments.

Major works on Western Road are set to begin 28th September which will include adding the red route to hopefully prevent the epidemic of illegal and dangerous parking that the road currently sees.

A public meeting on the subject chaired by Cllr Ollie Sykes will be held on Tuesday the 8th of September at the Cornerstone centre at 7:00 pm.

Brighton & Hove is once again marking Cycle to Work Day this year, on Thursday 6th August, the UK's biggest annual celebration of cycle commuting.😀

There are a number of smaller events or rewards being supported by local businesses on the day including a chance to win a cycle repair stand for your workplace, free coffee and pastries, bike repairs from Bike Boom and Brighton Bike Hub as well as bike security marking.
