The Self Assessment deadline of 31 January is closer than it feels. If you have not yet filed your tax return, now is a great time to get started so you are not rushing at the last minute.
Here are three things you can do right now to get prepared:
Gather your income records for the tax year. This means payslips, bank statements, invoices, and any interest statements from savings accounts.
Collect your expenses. If you are self-employed or run a business, make sure you have records of anything you are claiming as a legitimate business cost.
Know your HMRC login details. It sounds simple, but a forgotten Government Gateway password can add unnecessary stress when you are up against the clock.
If you are not sure where to start, or if your records are a little behind, I am happy to help. I have been supporting small businesses and sole traders with self assessments for years, so there is no need to face it alone.
Get in touch and let us get this sorted well before the deadline.
