If your business needs a new phone system, be careful of leasing the equipment and the associated costs.

On top of paying the lease you would pay rental for the service.

Most phone kit should cost around £30-£500 depending on make and model, etc. So it can be cheaper to just buy the kit outright rather than pay interest on it and high mark ups.

Years ago I new of a couple of businesses who got stung like the person below. One had 2 phones and was paying £700 pm.

Card payment machines work like mobile phones. You get free WiFi and 4G on them and the interface is Android. So they are easy to navigate.

You can also take card payments on you mobile phone with the app you can download. Not all providers do this or even have an app or online portal.

Card payments are taking over from cash, no new news there. Why?

In short: convenience and security.

Using a card for payments, you don't now have to worry about making sure you have enough cash. Cards are more secure than cash, with options on getting money back if your card is stolen and various other security protocols like pin number, biometrics, etc.

An old guy said to me he preferred cash. I said if you get mugged you lose everything, if someone steals your card you could get your money back.

Cards are not perfect but I argue that they are more secure for the user than cash.
