Santander have been working hard to bring their underwriting timescales back to 1 working day.

This was a residential purchase application. All documentation submitted on Tuesday too and now a happy customer ready for the weekend!

There could be a number of reasons why your mortgage application could potentially be rejected. Here are 3 reasons we find are the most common :

1️⃣ Not declaring all credit commitments - loans/credit cards/PCP finance/child maintenance/student loans/store cards/pension contributions, etc...

2️⃣ Not letting us know about adverse credit - CCJs/Defaults/missed payments/debt management plans

3️⃣ Not telling us the full property details - may be a flat over 4 floors/short lease/flat above shop/non-standard construction

The more information we have upfront, the easier it will be to process your application, and it will help us ensure that it is placed with the correct lender!
