A billion seconds takes you back to 1994.
A trillion seconds takes you to the Stone Age.

The first trillion of UK debt took 316 years.
The second took 10 years.
The third took 6 years after the second.

That is not growth. That is theft from the younger generation.

In the past 10 years, NHS employee numbers have increased by a third.
From 1.03m (fte) in 2016 to 1.38 m (fte) in 2025.

The civil service has expanded from 384,000 in 2016 to 515,000 (full time equivalents) this year.

The state is bloated. The more people employed, does not equal a better output. Otherwise, a race would be on for all business to employ as many people as possible.
So how do companies, like Amazon, improve output, productivity & reduce cost?

Analyse a task, offer solutions, Analyse, offer solutions, Analyse, offer solutions until there are no more solutions, implement, then Systemise, tweak the 5% here, tweak the 5% there. Full systemisation. Analyse again, and again, its a constant in any business.

The Bank of England base rate sits at 3.75%.
Credit cards charge over 21%.

So,
You give the bank £10,000.
They give you £206 a year.

They then lend your money to someone else on a credit card at 21% and make £2,100.

They pocket the profit.

The system teaches you to “save for the future.”
However, traditional savings is a scam. It’s much better to put in a unit trust, like ‘Fundsmith’ or other such funds that invest in the top businesses in the world and compounds.

UK inflation sits at 2.6% while the average high street cash ISA pays just 2.06%.

If you leave £20,000 in a standard cash ISA, you are losing purchasing power every single month.

The bank takes your money, invests it in real assets that rise with inflation, and pays you back in devalued cash that buys less than it did last year.

They build wealth with your money while you get poorer.

Remember, if you aren't getting at least a 4% pay rise this year, you're effectively taking a pay cut.
Same with Rents, if rents do not increase by at least 4%, then you’ve given a rent reduction.

Also remember, it’s not your employers responsibility …. It’s yours.

Id also add: if you are going to change jobs, there is the unknown, new systems & stress, to prove yourself … so shoot from the hip & go a minimum of a 35% pay increase.

Inflation quietly eats stagnation, … money sat in a bank account slowly rotting.

To really under wealth, is to really understand inflation.
