You can review your current mortgage deal up to 6 months before it is due to end.
If you do nothing or leave it too late, you risk your mortgage going on to the lender’s Standard Variable Rate which could mean you’re paying way more each month than you need to.
According to moneyfacts.co.uk, the average SVR of lenders in December 2023 was 8.19% which is astronomical in comparison to the majority of high street lenders current fixed rates.
