What an incredible milestone for Sa Performing Arts Centre Limited 🌟

Karen and Duncan had the pleasure of attending their 25th anniversary celebrations in Byker, celebrating 25 years of inspiring young talent and helping shape careers in the performing arts across the North East.

From a wonderful performance by current students to a fascinating exhibition showcasing their journey since 2001, it was a fantastic morning celebrating everything they have achieved. 🎶

A huge congratulations to Lucy Sage and the entire team at SA Performing Arts Centre on this amazing milestone!

Here's to the next 25 years of talent, creativity and standing ovations! 👏💛

🦴 There's more to our health than meets the eye!

And sometimes, it's worth taking a closer look at what's going on beneath the surface.

Our team recently had the pleasure of visiting Optimal Health Clinic NE Ltd to experience their innovative Echolight REMS bone health screening.

From discovering how the technology works to gaining a better understanding of our own bone health, it was an incredibly interesting and insightful experience.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Optimal Health Clinic for making us feel so welcome and taking the time to share their knowledge!

40 years ago, at the young age of 17 Jason walked through the doors of Weir Insurance and the rest, as they say, is history!

From questionable ties and computers the size of small fridges to becoming one of our Directors, Jason has certainly seen a few changes over the years!
One thing that hasn't changed is his dedication to Weir Insurance and the part he's played in making us who we are today. 💜

A day well spent at Northumberland County Council's Annual Countywide Landlord Forum! 🏡

It was a pleasure to support this year's event and connect with landlords and property professionals from across Northumberland.

From insightful presentations to great conversations at our stand, it was a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, make new connections and talk all things property insurance.

🌱 A little science, a lot of sprouts! 🥦

We had such a brilliant afternoon at Weir Insurance learning all about sprouts, nutrition and the science behind some of the foods we eat every day.

One of the fascinating things we learned was about 'Sulforaphane', a natural plant compound found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and broccoli sprouts.

When broccoli is chopped, Glucoraphanin comes into contact with an enzyme called 'Myrosinase', which helps create Sulforaphane, a compound studied for its antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties.

🥦 And here’s a tip we’ll definitely remember...

** Chop your broccoli and leave it for around 20 to 40 minutes before cooking it.**

Giving it a little time before cooking allows that reaction to take place before heat can deactivate the Myrosinase enzyme.

Tomorrow at 4pm, we're hosting a Sprouts Workshop at Weir Insurance Brokers with Dr Sara Young from

Sara will be talking us through the science and potential benefits behind growing red clover and other sprouts, with the chance to learn how to grow them yourself.

We're opening the workshop up to our clients, local businesses and anyone in our network who fancies joining us.

Team Weir out of office 🌱

Our AGM looked a little different this year and we absolutely loved it.

🌱 Not your average AGM… 🐑🌳

Yesterday the Weir team swapped the office for the great outdoors for our AGM at Greenacres ESG, and it’s safe to say it was a little different from the usual meeting room!

We got stuck into everything from feeding the sheep and helping to reseed a herbal ley with the quad, to building bug hotels and meeting some of the animals.

We also left a little piece of Weir behind 💜

🌸 We planted our very own *Weir Wildflower Garden*
🌳 Everyone planted their own *Hazel tree*
🐞 We built new homes for some of the smaller Greenacres residents

And something we’re particularly proud of…

🌍 Weir offset 48 tonnes of carbon yesterday, more than compensating for our annual carbon footprint as a business.

Greenacres also kept us very well fed with the most delicious locally sourced lunch, which went down extremely well after a morning of getting stuck in! 😋

It was a brilliant day spent together as a team, learning more about sustainability and getting hands on with some of the ways businesses can make a positive environmental impact.

And yes, there is plenty of video evidence… 👀
