BP Insurance Brokers started life in Blackpool in 1958, and has grown over the years into a leading high-street insurance broker for the Fylde Coast area. We currently have a vacancy for a Team Leader to join our Blackpool Branch.
THE ROLE - TEAM LEADER
The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Personal Lines Insurance Division. You will be required to provide oversight and assist other staff within the Personal Lines team.
Applicants MUST have extensive experience within the insurance broking industry and a strong personal lines background.
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
To directly assist in managing the General Insurance Division.
To assist in managing the motivation and morale of the team, proactively managing all employment-related issues, including discipline, grievances and welfare.
To assist in HR matters such as recruitment, training, staff reviews, appraisals, monitoring, managing absence, holiday requests, one to one’s etc.
Ensure efficiency and teamwork at all times whilst supporting the company’s Key Performance Indicator’s and targets.
Liaise with Office Manager & Business Support Manager to help shape and give direction to the company.
Identify performance improvement opportunities for the company.
Comply with the company’s compliance at all times within the requirements of the regulators rules.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Dealing with our customers face to face and over the phone.
Handling new business enquiries, sales, mid-term adjustments and renewal terms.
Securing new business opportunities.
Growing existing business income through retention and cross-selling.
Providing technical advice to ensure our customer's insurance needs are met.
Providing exceptional customer service at all times.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· Insurance qualified.
· Previous supervisory experience at an Insurance Brokers preferred.
· Advanced level of communication, people management & development skills.
· An Advanced knowledge of all aspects of Personal Lines Insurance.
· An Advanced knowledge of Claims procedures.
· Must be able to effectively handle complaints.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Capable of, motivating, training, disciplining, supporting and mentoring other staff.
· Strong sales ability.
· Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Experience of using broker software systems such as CDL or Open GI.
· Excellent written & communication skills.
Flexibility required to work Saturdays (on a rota basis). Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm and Saturday mornings 9.00am - 12 noon. A half day is allocated to you each week.
