What a fantastic weekend for the Lancashire Youth Pool Team at the Youth County Finals in Mansfield 🎱🔥
The team got off to a flying start, coming through the group stage without dropping a match. That momentum carried into the knockout rounds, where a strong performance against Derbyshire B in the last 16 saw us move on with confidence.
In the quarter-finals against Lincolnshire A, it was a close battle early on, but once the lads found their rhythm they pulled clear to take a well-earned 13–7 win. The semi-final against Staffordshire was always going to be a tough test, and it lived up to expectations. A tense match ended 13–11, with Zac Oldfield producing a quality finish under pressure to seal our spot in the final.
The final saw them face an outstanding South Yorkshire side. Despite finding thereselves chasing the match throughout — the boys showed incredible determination to fight back to 10–10 and then 12–12, forcing a three-frame playoff. Eli Jackson gave Lancashire the lead in the playoff, but South Yorkshire responded to push it to a decider, where there was nothing more they could do after a break-and-dish to seal it for South Yorkshire.
Huge credit to Charlie Woan, Robbie Southern, Harvey Southworth, Zac Oldfield and Eli Jackson — every one of these lads performed superbly across the weekend, and their effort and attitude were second to none.
