Great news for the classic vehicle community!

Peter James Insurance has welcomed the latest DVLA registration policy reforms, which bring greater clarity for owners restoring and preserving historic vehicles.

Among the key changes is updated guidance allowing newly constructed 'period typical' bodies to be fitted to vehicles with an original chassis, helping enthusiasts maintain historically accurate restorations. The DVLA has also clarified how the manufacture dates of certain imported classic vehicles can be recognised.

As proud insurance partners of the FBHVC, we're delighted to see continued progress that supports classic vehicle owners and helps safeguard Britain's rich motoring heritage for future generations.

From plumber’s van to purple showstopper! 💜

At the Morris Minor Owners Club National Rally, Paul Cowland caught up with Brian, the proud owner of this incredible Cadbury-inspired Morris Minor van.

What started life as a hardworking plumber’s van arrived in cardboard boxes before being lovingly rebuilt and transformed into the eye-catching classic you see today. And the famous purple paintwork? That was all thanks to Brian’s wife, who firmly decided grey just wouldn’t do!

We think it’s one of the sweetest restorations at the rally. 🍫

And if anyone from Cadbury is watching... surely Brian deserves a lifetime supply of Dairy Milk? 👀

875 miles, one Morris Minor, and a whole lot of adventure! 🇩🇪➡️🇬🇧
At the Morris Minor Owners Club National Rally, Paul Cowland caught up with Albert and Petra, winners of the Longest Distance Travelled award after driving all the way from Germany in their beloved Morris Minor, Miss Marple.
From driving across Europe to planning even more scenic stops around the UK before heading home, their journey is a fantastic reminder that classic cars are made to be driven and enjoyed.
Congratulations, Albert and Petra, and thank you for making the trip. We wish you many more happy and safe miles behind the wheel of Miss Marple! 👏

🏆 Congratulations to Henk, winner of our Pride of Ownership – Best Traveller award at the recent Morris Minor Owners Club National Rally!
Paul Cowland caught up with Henk after his win to hear the incredible story behind his Morris Minor Traveller. What started as two very different cars became one unique build, combining the best of both and helping to preserve a rare piece of Morris Minor history.
The award came as an emotional surprise for Henk, whose passion, dedication and craftsmanship have created a truly special Traveller. 👏

🏆 Best Van and a brilliant story behind it!
Paul Cowland spoke to Ian, winner of our Pride of Ownership Best Van award at the Morris Minor Owners Club National Rally, about the stunning Morris Minor Van restored with the help of Dorset Club's "Friday Boys Club".
With 150 hours of volunteer effort, plenty of enthusiasm and, by the sounds of it, plenty of cake too, this award belongs to a whole team of passionate classic car enthusiasts. 🍰
Congratulations to everyone involved — and good luck defending the title next year! 👏
