Sentio East Midlands is here! 🎉

Today marks an exciting new chapter for Sentio Insurance Brokers as we officially launch our new East Midlands office in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

And at the heart of it is Emily Long Cert CII, Associate Director, who will be leading our presence in the region.

With 27 years in insurance and deep roots in the Hinckley area, Emily brings a huge amount of experience, knowledge and local understanding to the role.

As Emily puts it:
“Insurance has been a huge part of my life and career... you could say insurance is in my blood.”

We couldn't put it better ourselves!

This expansion means we can build even closer relationships with businesses across Leicestershire, Warwickshire and the wider East Midlands, while continuing to deliver the personal service and independent advice that Sentio is known for.

A huge congratulations to Emily on this exciting new chapter! 👏

From the first step at Ben Nevis to completing all three peaks in under 24 hours… what an achievement 👏⛰️

A huge well done to Billy, Chris, Jade, Richard, Richard and Alastair for taking on the and smashing it.

Plenty of miles, very little sleep, and memories that’ll last a long time.

They’re about to set off, with Ben Nevis first up.

On Friday, we had a great evening at a charity pub quiz in support of Birmingham Dogs Home🐾

We were proud to sponsor the event, and as a team of dog lovers, it’s a cause close to home for us. It was brilliant to see the local community come together at The Castle Droitwich, with a big thank you to Chloe for organising such a great night.

Together, £530 was raised 👏

Quiz-wise… we came a respectable 4th place. Raffle-wise… slightly less respectable, we somehow managed to win most of the prizes (awkward 😅).

Chloe’s not stopping there either, she’s taking on a 13,000ft skydive in a couple of weeks to raise even more. Best of luck, Chloe… we’ll be cheering you on from the ground!

Gold and silver prices have risen quite a bit over the past few years.

Sounds like a positive, but it can create a bit of a blind spot when it comes to insurance.

We’re seeing more cases where jewellery, coins, and other items containing precious metals are now worth noticeably more than when they were last valued or specified on a policy.

If those values haven’t been updated, it can lead to underinsurance.

That means in the event of a claim, the settlement may not reflect what it would actually cost to replace the item today.

It’s usually a simple fix. A quick valuation check is often all that’s needed to make sure everything still lines up properly.

If you’re not sure when yours were last reviewed, it’s probably worth a quick sense check.
