On Wednesday evening, on a beautiful sunny day in Birmingham, Stuart Harbourne was elected President of the Birmingham Insurance Institute for the forthcoming year, with Helen Holyoake being voted in as Deputy President.

A huge congratulations to Kris Vind on a hugely successful year.

Two weeks of great events by the BII; last Thursday saw the return of the annual quiz, organised by the Young Professionals. A great event, raising much needed funds for charity. Well done to Keeley & Co Ltd who came first.

Last night the BII hosted an event at F1 Arcade, with all 80 tickets selling out very quickly. A really enjoyable evening of networking and racing - thanks to Kris & Alex for organising! 🏎️🏁

Thank you to everyone who attended the CPD event last night, hosted by Chamber No 5. The wonderful Will Kintish provided all attendees with excellent knowledge on “how to destroy your networking fears” and everyone got to put their newfound skills into practice with pizza and drinks after.

The BII quiz is taking place on the 21st November. Teams of up to 5 (smaller teams/solo entrants welcome) can compete. Tickets cost £12 and include a £5 donation to charity and a light buffet at half time.

Join us for the BII Summer Networking Barbecue, on the 25th September 2024.

The event will be held on the terrace at the Library of Birmingham, with fabulous views across the city (or in the equally impressive Book Rotunda in the event of bad weather). Kicking off at 6:30pm and open until 11:30pm, guests can expect a welcoming glass of Prosecco (or soft alternative), street food BBQ and a live DJ. Additional drinks can be purchased at the bar or on account.

Tickets cost £60 and include a £5 donation to the Presidents chosen charity, One by One (https://onebyone.org/our-story/)

On Thursday 9th May, BIBA West Midlands and the BII are hosting a joint CPD and summer social event at Beazley’s offices.

Following a 30 minute talk on Management Liability claims stories and 10 minutes on BIBA Event Insurance, there will be an opportunity to (hopefully, weather dependent!) enjoy the fabulous sun terrace. Nibbles and a variety of drinks will be available.

Wednesday evening was busy for the BII, as while the AGM took place, the annual pool tournament was beginning. A huge thank you to all who took part and a special mention to Alex Ballantine for organising, a great event raising money for The UK Sepsis Trust.
