In an effort to push inflation down, a couple of weeks ago the Bank of England increased the base from 0.75% to 1%.

Whilst this may seem like a small increase, this can have the potential to negatively impact your finances if you are on a Variable rate mortgage product.

I have included a link directly to the BoE website which includes a calculator to see how your finances might be affected.

We’ve put up interest rates to help bring inflation back down. But it will take time to work.

As expected, the Bank of England have today increase the base rate which will have a direct affect on mortgages.
