Called out to a customer in Billericay this week after their oven kept tripping the circuit every time it was used.

After carrying out a detailed fault-finding investigation using calibrated test equipment, I was able to identify the issue as a faulty heating element suffering from insulation breakdown. These faults can be difficult to pinpoint as they often only occur once the appliance heats up.

Rather than replacing parts and hoping for the best, proper testing allowed me to confirm the exact cause of the problem and provide the customer with a clear repair plan.

⚡ From fault find to full fix – Cooker supply upgraded in Billericay ⚡

Called out earlier this week to a kitchen in Billericay where there was an issue with the cooker supply. After fault finding, it became clear the existing cable had a fault and needed replacing to make the installation safe.

Fast forward to today and a new 6mm cooker feed has been installed 👍

✔ New correctly rated cable installed
✔ Heat-resistant flex used for the cooker connection
✔ All terminations done with professional ferrules/lugged connections
✔ Fully tested and certified

The client was issued with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) so everything is signed off properly and safe to use.

Customer in Billericay had just finished decorating this stunning panelled wall… then decided they wanted bedside lights added 😅

⚡ EICR Carried Out in Brentwood ⚡

Called out after a heating engineer flagged unusually high readings at the boiler connections — always worth investigating 👍

Carried out a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to assess the safety of the property. The client received a detailed report, a video overlay explaining the findings, and a clear list of any recommended remedial works.

A lot of electrical issues aren’t visible day to day, which is why inspections like this are so important — they help identify potential fire risks, faulty connections, and anything that may no longer meet current standards.

🚨 Smoke Alarm Upgrade in Brentwood 🚨

Another property in Brentwood now safer and fully up to standard with new smoke alarms installed 🔧

A lot of people don’t realise that smoke alarms don’t last forever… most have a lifespan of around 10 years, and after that they can become unreliable without any obvious signs.

We removed the old unit, installed a new compliant alarm, tested everything thoroughly, and made good around the ceiling so it looks just as clean as before 👍

Got a call out in Billericay after a cable was accidentally hit while putting up shelves. It’s one of those “oh no” moments but it’s more common than people think!

The damaged cable was safely isolated, professionally repaired and fully tested to make sure everything was safe and working correctly. The wall was then filled with bonding plaster, leaving it ready for decorating.
