A more serious post for today!
Recently, our founder, Ben Parry has become the subject of identity theft and the centre of a scam making false claims about stealing money in relation to Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and forex trading.
This is a personal attempt to bribe and damage Ben's local reputation within the community. Frustrating as this might be for Ben personally, we want to assure all clients that there is no risk or impact to Barr Financial's client data.
With Facebook ads being run in North Devon and clients being contacted by the scammer using a fake website to spread misinformation, we feel it’s important to put out the message that this is fraud and we’re actively working to have it taken down.
There is no truth to the scam in any part and Ben refutes all the claims made by the scammer with every piece of ‘evidence’ being a complete fabrication. A crime report has been submitted and an investigation by the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau is underway.
At this point, our best guess is someone has posed as Ben, stealing his identity to scam people. Barr Financial is proud of our service to clients and all of the team would never associate themselves with scamming people, especially during a time where we need to work together and help people the most.
