As seen on LinkedIn - a little bit about me and how we can help
Like most, it’s fair to say that I somewhat fell into the financial planning industry. After studying Accounting, Finance and Management at the University of Nottingham, I’d had every intention of qualifying as an accountant.
But then a close friend, who was already in the industry, opened my eyes to the world of financial planning and the opportunities it presented - particularly to younger advisers due to the increasing age of existing advisers
In November 2021, just after graduating uni, I started my level 4 DipFA studies with the LIBF which were completed the following August
In January 2022, I took a role as a paraplanner working alongside a sole adviser and my close friend mentioned above. This role was invaluable - it sharpened my technical knowledge and give me a real insight into how the industry operated
By January 2024, I started working towards my level 6 Adv DipFA with the aim of becoming chartered (final module finishes in December - fingers crossed)
Fast forward to today, I’ve been a Financial Planner for just under 12 months, with over 3.5 years of industry experience
The past year has been a whirlwind - diving head first into the world of self-employed, trying to juggle existing clients whilst trying to win new business, as well as building a network of people around us we can trust to help us grow and to ensure clients are looked after in areas outside of our remit. We’ve also taken on a small number of longstanding clients from the adviser we’ve worked alongside since day one, ensuring these clients are looked after for years to come.
Moving forward, the main focus is to help high income millennials make solid financial decisions and build long term, sustainable wealth
If your business is booming or your payslip is reaching new heights, it might be worth having a conversation with a Financial Planner to ensure you’re maximising your hard earned income
