Fixed rate ending in the next few months?
The Bank of England has kept Bank Rate at 3.75%, but that doesnβt mean mortgage rates have to stay where they are.
Lenders price fixed-rate mortgages using a number of factors, and deals can be repriced even when Bank Rate itself hasnβt moved. The Bank of England has also noted that mortgage rates are currently higher than before the recent rise in global energy costs. (bankofengland.co.uk)
So if your current fixed deal is approaching its end, it may be worthwhile reviewing your options sooner rather than later.
In some cases, a new mortgage deal can be secured several months in advance, giving you time to consider your options before your existing rate finishes.
Waiting until the last minute could mean the deals available today are no longer available if lenders reprice again.
