It's National Volunteers' Week and we are so excited to showcase one of our volunteering days with our Charity Partner, Julian House.

Lots of scrubbing and scraping was needed to transform the Bike Workshop into a new Day Centre 🧼 🧹

Society colleagues can use two volunteering days each year. In 2025, we spent 707 hours volunteering for local charities and communities, and we continue to provide more support throughout this year.

💙 We’re proud to be a Dementia Friendly organisation. All of our colleagues are Dementia Friends, meaning you will always find someone in our Branches or Head Office who understands dementia and can offer support when needed.

The annual Alzheimer's Society: The Forget Me Not campaign is now live, helping to raise awareness and remind people living with dementia that they are not alone.

You can find out more about the campaign, make a donation, and receive a Forget Me Not badge to wear in honour of a loved one or simply to show your support for those affected by dementia.

🏆 Our annual Community Awards programme are now open. The awards are a big part of our commitment to give back 2% of the Society’s profits to the local community.

To be eligible, entrants must operate in Bath & North East Somerset, have a turnover of less than £500,000 and be one of the below:

2026 entries will be accepted from today until 29th May. Apply now for a chance to be awarded up to £5,000. Criteria applies.

🕰️➡️🏡 "what were you like in 1904?"

In 1904, the Society was founded as a Friendly Society on the High Street after a group of business people had a bold idea to encourage home ownership in Bath.

Fast forward to 2026 and this ambition remains core to the Society's purpose💪

Yesterday we came together for our Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking an incredible milestone of 122 years serving our Members and community.

It was a fantastic afternoon, with over 60 Members joining us at the Hilton Hotel in Bath to reflect on the past year, celebrate our achievements, and look ahead to what’s next.

1) Members had the chance to hear from our Board; sharing highlights of the last 12 months to discussing our future vision, the event was a great opportunity to connect, listen and continue building a Society shaped by its Members.

2) Claire Bounds from Avon and Somerset Police Fraud Protect Team delivered an insightful presentation covering different types of fraud and what to look out for.

3 and 4) A delicious afternoon tea with light refreshments was provided for each Member who voted in our AGM.

5) A big thank you to everyone who attended and took part in the voting. Your feedback and involvement truly make a difference. Every vote cast also helped raise funds for our Charity of the Year, Julian House. Another reminder of what we can achieve together.
