πŸŽ‰ Fantastic news! Bath Welcomes Refugees has been awarded Β£1,250 through our Community Awards programme.

Bath Welcomes Refugees is a local charity that is proactive in helping refugees find sanctuary in the UK, in particular in Bath and surrounding areas.

'We organise a range of social events and groups for the refugee community, offering friendship and support to help alleviate cultural isolation. The money received from Bath Building Societies community awards will help fund a new project looking to support women to share the culinary delicacies from their home countries, leading to the possibility of selling these items at local events to earn an income.'

Every year, the Bath Building Society Community Awards help turn our commitment into action, with 2% of the Society's profits invested back into the local community.

β€œIs it too late to open a Lifetime ISA account?” πŸ€”

Nope.

You can still open a LISA with just Β£1 and potentially keep access to the 25% government bonus on future contributions.

If buying your first home is part of your plan, it could be worth getting one open while you still can. πŸ‘πŸ”‘β€‰

Govt. withdrawal charge may apply. ISA and tax rules apply.

We recently shared stories from four colleagues celebrating over 100 years of service, a recurring comment was how our Members are like family to them.

We would now like to say a huge thank you to our Members who have shared their appreciation for the Society, and most importantly our Branch customer service team.

πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ Celebrating over 100 years of combined service: meet four colleagues behind the Society...

We talked to Gemma, Rachel, Caroline and Jane, who have contributed an incredible 108 years of service to the Society’s savings customer service team, both in Branch and Head Office. They talk about the changes they’ve seen over the years and the one thing that remains at the core of the Society.

"A lot of our customers are like family to me. They come to us with good and bad news stories, sharing photos of their holidays and new babies." - Jane, Customer Service Advisor.

πŸŽ‰ Great news! ESC- Eddies Street Cuts has been awarded Β£500 through our Community Awards programme.

Eddie's Street Cuts is a community outreach project providing free haircuts to people experiencing homelessness in Bath, Bristol, and surrounding areas: 'restoring dignity and hope to people experiencing homelessness through the power of a haircut.'

Eddie Ilic, founder of Eddie's Streets Cuts said: "Our project was founded on a simple belief, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion, regardless of their circumstances. Through a dedicated team of volunteer hairdressers, we provide haircuts to people experiencing homelessness across Bath and Bristol in shelters and on the streets. While a haircut may seem like a small gesture we have seen first-hand the confidence, self-worth, and human connection it can restore. The money received from Bath Building Society will help to buy the equipment volunteers need to continue this work." βœ‚οΈ
