Great staff day to celebrate 22 years of Structured Financial Planning

02/09/2026

We were delighted to see the Banchory 2018 Girls Banchory Girls FC enjoying a very special day on Sunday as mascots for Aberdeen Women.

The girls had the chance to walk out with the Aberdeen players ahead of their SWPL match against Partick Thistle at Balmoral Stadium, before getting back onto the pitch themselves for a kick about at half time.

The result may not have gone Aberdeen’s way, with Partick Thistle winning 3-0, but it certainly looked like a brilliant experience for the girls and one they thoroughly enjoyed.

We’re very proud to sponsor the Banchory 2018 Girls and to support grassroots football in our local community.

Well done, girls!

🏃‍♀️🏃 What a fantastic day at the Deveron Valley Running Festival festival of Running! Run by Deveron Harriers 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

We were delighted to sponsor this year’s Deveron Valley Half Marathon, and even better, we had a great turnout from our own team and extended work family across the day’s races.

Taking on the 10K were Nikki and Kirsty – both putting in brilliant performances. 👏

In the 5K, we had Sammy, Neil, Ewen, and Mike flying the flag for us – another fantastic effort all round! 🙌

It was a brilliant day in Banff, with a great atmosphere, plenty of encouragement and, most importantly, lots of smiles. A huge well done to everyone who took part and to the Deveron Harriers and all the volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

And it sounds as though this could just be the beginning… 👀

A few of us have already made promises about stepping up to the Half Marathon next year, while we’re hoping to get even more of the family involved too – including some of the youngsters in the fun run. We may come to regret putting those promises in writing!

Not pictured but very much part of the day were Troy, Richard, and Kris on photography duty. Troy wasn’t able to run this time as he was on dad duty, but watch this space…

We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Troy as he prepares to take on the 2027 London Marathon in aid of Marie Curie. There will be plenty more on his training and fundraising journey to come.

A great day, a great local event and a lovely opportunity to get colleagues, friends and family together. ❤️

Same again next year… only with a few more of us on the start line!

We are so sorry that our Finance Director, Peter Bruce, passed away on Sunday morning. Peter helped set up Structured Financial Planning in 2004 and remained a valued friend and colleague throughout. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his wife, Beverly, his children, Troy, Craig and Flora, and the rest of his family.

*Updated with funeral details*

Shared at the request of the family.

BRUCE
(Banff)

Peacefully at home, with his devoted family by his side, after facing an illness with great courage and strength, on Sunday 4th January 2026, Peter, aged 63 years. Cherished husband of Bev; loving dad to Troy, Craig & Flora; dear father-in-law to Robyn and a significant other to Ben; very proud Granda to Breanna & Brooklyn; and a much-loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and respected by all his many friends.
Peter’s wish was to have a Celebration of his Life at the Fife Lodge Hotel, Banff on Monday 19th January at 10.30am to which all his friends and family are respectfully invited. This will be followed by a time of fellowship and food before the immediate family leaves for a private cremation. No flowers please but donations may be given to the charities Peter picked, Marie Curie, Macduff Medical Practice and District Nurses. He has also asked that you refrain from wearing black, colours would be appreciated.
