Bob Jones has been in our musical lives for pretty much the longest…. Over 50 years in the DJ game…He’s been such an influential mentor to generations of left field selectors - I’ll never ever forget being 17 and discovering the jazz room at Caister Soul Weekend where a beret wearing Bob was playing ‘Giant Steps’ cranked up to max with a roomful of the coolest kids spinning and vibing to his tunes - I’d found my paradise! We’ve been comrades in jazz ever since - Bob was the one who introduced me to Jimmy Smith, Johnny Lytle, Cedar Walton Charles Earland Judy Roberts and so many more…his charts in Blues and Soul were always the go to… he never stopped championing the jazz … and of course the soul… he became Dr Bob and we spent magic years at Kiss FM together where he also became one of the early champions of Deep House … he would spend his London nights living in Brownswood after all-nighters at the Wag followed by Chinese delights in Gerard Street with his knowledge and laughs… Bob needs our help right now… the amazing has setup a Go Fund Me to help with his health issues…. Please support him and we’ll see him play with us down at Dingwalls again very soon. Love you Bob….

Great party and charity event last night for Beds and Herts adult with learning difficulties. Simple pleasures like music mean so much to many of them. Glad i covered all of their song requests, did not want to disappoint any of them. See you guys at the next event.:) . Great fun bunch.

Out of DJ retirement tonight. Xstatix now relaunched as video fx company. mixing visuals with projectors and lasers. Hard work doing both music and video at the same time. Hoping to hand over to my daughter ASAP. Mainly only doing charity functions and selective events on request. The sound system this evening a Bose Sound system (F1 812 full system) was spot on and loud. Buzzing but tired. Big shouts to wicked lasers and laserworld. Great software and products.
