🚨 INTEREST RATES ARE BACK ON THE RISE. COULD YOUR MORTGAGE BE AFFECTED?
The Bank of England has increased the base rate by 0.25 percentage points, taking it from 3.75% to 4%.
So, what does this mean for your mortgage?
It depends on the type of mortgage you have and when your current deal is due to end.
🏡 ON A FIXED RATE?
If you're currently on a fixed rate, your monthly mortgage payment won't change as a direct result of today's increase. However, you may want to start reviewing your options if your deal is due to end within the next six months.
📈 ON A TRACKER MORTGAGE?
Your payments could increase as your mortgage rate may move in line with the Bank of England base rate, depending on your lender's terms.
🔍 ON YOUR LENDER'S STANDARD VARIABLE RATE?
Your lender may decide to increase its rate, which could mean higher monthly payments.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOUR CURRENT DEAL ENDS TO EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS.
At Mortgage Experience, our advisers can review your circumstances, search the mortgage market and help you understand what options may be available.
Whether you're approaching the end of a fixed rate, currently on a tracker or simply unsure what today's announcement means for you, we're here to help.
