Most IVAs run for five to six years, depending on your income, circumstances and what is agreed with your creditors. Payments are based on what you can actually afford, and are reviewed if your situation changes along the way.

Then, at the end of the term, any remaining qualifying debt included in the arrangement is written off. Gone.
It's a defined period with a clear finish line.

If you're curious about what this could look like for your situation, then we're happy to talk it through with you. We don't incentivise our advisors to promote an IVA and we don't pay commission for the advice they give, so they will never recommend an IVA for you if another debt solution would be better suited to your circumstances.

"If anyone is looking for an IVA company that gives 100% and have time to listen and make a bad time more bearable, then I highly recommend this company.

"Thanks so much for all your help and assistance in getting my IVA sorted for me.

"I will always be grateful for how you were with me at one of the worse times of my life."

If you're struggling with mounting personal debts, please reach out. It costs nothing to have a conversation and we'll always be honest with you about whether an IVA is the right option.

'Will I lose my house or car in an IVA?' is one of the most common questions we get asked - and understandably so.

If you are a homeowner, you will not need to sell or use any equity in your home to pay for your IVA, however if your home equity is £10,000 or more, then your payments will last for 6 years instead of 5 to compensate your creditors.

An IVA also protects you from having to sell you car and you will be allowed to set aside sufficient money each month from your income to enable you to maintain the vehicle and keep it in a roadworthy condition. Remember though that your creditor will likely insist that the car has no more than a modest value, which is deemed to be £6,500 or lower.

The goal of an IVA is to get you back on stable ground. Not to put your home or the things you rely on at risk.

An IVA is a powerful alternative to bankruptcy with the capacity to protect assets and incomes that might be otherwise vulnerable under the bankruptcy process. 🌞 School summer holidays start next week. If you have kids and money's tight, remember that you're not alone and there is some support available:

🚌 Free bus travel for kids
From 1-31 August, children aged 5 to 15 travel free on participating local buses across England. No registration, no fuss and handy for days out or getting to holiday clubs.

🎟️ Cheaper family days out
Museums, zoos, soft play and similar attractions have a temporary VAT cut this summer (20% down to 5%, until 1 September). Many venues are passing the savings on, so it's worth looking into.

🍽️ Free holiday clubs through HAF
If your children get benefits-related free school meals, your council's HAF programme offers free holiday clubs with food and activities, all summer long. Search "[your council] HAF holiday club" to find what's near you.

Every bit of breathing room helps when you're already managing unmanageable debt. If money worries go beyond the summer holidays, we're here when you're ready to talk.

June 2026 will be remembered for a lot of things.

We have been glued to the World Cup.
We sweltered through the hottest June day on record.
We saw a Prime Minister resign.

And in the background is a tense and unpredictable global picture - from the Middle East to energy markets. It's been a lot 🥵

Heatwaves push energy costs up. Political uncertainty unsettles markets, and that uncertainty filters down to household bills. And if you're already managing serious debt, none of this makes things easier to deal with.

If June has left you feeling like you're running out of options, remember that you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

An IVA isn't right for everyone, but for the right situation it can offer a way to draw a line through unmanageable debt and take steps towards moving forward again.

We're here to talk it through. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just honest advice from a not-for-profit specialist IVA team. 🌿

You've done it. Your IVA is complete. 🎉

After years of sticking to a tight budget and working hard to get here, that feeling of finally being debt-free is something you've absolutely earned.

But what happens next? Without the structure of an IVA, it can be surprisingly easy for old habits to creep back in and that's something nobody talks about enough.

We've put together some honest, practical advice on how to protect the progress you've made - including what to do with that monthly payment now it's finally yours to keep.

Completing an IVA is a significant moment. Years of keeping to a tight budget and navigating this alongside whatever life threw at you. But now you've done it.
