And just like that… it’s 1 September 🍂
Summer has flown by - and we've tried to make the most of these last few days with a little family trip to North Devon 🌊
As we head into the final few months of the year, there are a few dates worth having on your financial radar:
📅 28 October – the Autumn Budget. The Chancellor is due to set out the Government’s plans, with potential implications for tax, savings, pensions and household finances.
📅 31 October – deadline for most paper Self Assessment tax returns.
📅 30 December – deadline for submitting your Self Assessment return if you want HMRC to collect your tax bill through your PAYE tax code (where eligible).
📅 31 January 2027 – deadline for online Self Assessment tax returns and payment of tax due.
📅 5 April 2027 – the end of the current tax year. A useful date to have in mind when reviewing your ISA, pension and wider financial planning.
There’s plenty that can happen between now and then, of course; but the final few months of the year can be a good opportunity to take stock, check whether your financial plans are still on track and think ahead to 2027.
A little bit of planning now can make the start of next year feel a whole lot less stressful.
