Autonomous vessels have been the focus of our attention at Seacroft this week, adding to our growing track record on this fascinating subject.

We are delighted to be starting our project with Zelim as we prepare to kick off our independent technical and commercial evaluation of their Guardian Uncrewed Rescue Craft for the offshore energy sector.

We have also been busy assisting Ocean Infinity in their audit and inspection preparations in readiness to work offshore aboard one of their brand new ships with autonomous capabilities, the Armada 78 01.

It’s fantastic to see this new technology beginning to become a reality. Exciting times for Seacroft and the Industry!

Get in touch at [email protected] if we can assist in any way with your autonomous vessel operations.

More specialist training has been the order of the day at Seacroft recently.

Our bespoke Ship Handling Simulator Training allows clients to provide bridge teams with focussed training tailored to their individual needs.

This time we have been coaching senior officers the skills required to drive ships equipped with twin azimuth propulsion in the exact circumstances expected of their vessels by their company and clients.

With the ability to recreate any scenario in port or offshore with realistic weather conditions and equipment failures, we can test and train for almost any eventuality.

We have had another busy month supporting our international clients with Marine and DP Assurance in the Middle East and Far East.

Working on behalf of our US partners, Baker Marine Solutions, LLC., we were able to mobilise one of our staff Marine and DP Specialists at short notice to conduct Annual DP Trials in Dubai.

We have also supported one of our Australian clients with comprehensive desktop DP Assurance of a DP3 Semi Submersible, in addition to providing full Marine and DP Assurance audits, in person, whilst in dry dock in Malaysia, prior to mobilising for offshore operations in the Bass Strait.

With a comprehensive team of core marine and DP staff, based in Aberdeen and Lowestoft, and a network of contractors across the world, Seacroft are always poised to respond to the most comprehensive assurance requirements, whatever the location.

One of Seacroft’s contributions to maritime safety is our provision of Compliance Assurance Services to vessel owners.

The purpose is to ensure continued compliance with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) and The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code to meet the requirements of the Flag State and potential Port State inspections.

An important aspect of monitoring and verification of a vessel’s safety management system is the requirement for the ship owner / operator to conduct annual internal safety audits. Seacroft perform this service on behalf of ship owners and managers, reporting to the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) allowing them to optimise their use of internal resources and ensure that personnel carrying out audits are independent of the areas being audited.

To deliver efficiency, our internal audit for ship owners covers all ISM, MLC and ISPS requirements in a single inspection and our geographic reach ensures we can attend vessels in most NW European ports and further afield at short notice.

Get in touch with us at [email protected] if we can assist with your compliance requirements and help reduce the cost and emissions of mobilising internal resources.
