As we move into a new season, it’s a great time to make sure your coverage still fits your day-to-day life here in France. We can review your policies, including:
✅ Home insurance (primary or secondary residence)
✅ Auto insurance
✅ Health & travel coverage
✅ Liability insurance
✅ Other types of insurance coverage you hold
If you’ve recently moved, renovated, purchased a vehicle, experienced family or professional changes, or updated your residency status, your insurance may need an adjustment.
We can also review policies not currently placed through our office and let you know if we can match — or even improve — your coverage and pricing.
👉 Send us a message or call for a quick 5-minute check-in.
We’re always happy to help.

When you lease a car in France (LOA or LLD), you’re not the legal owner. If your vehicle is stolen or written off, you could still owe the remaining lease payments. 😟

💡 Financial Loss Insurance (garantie pertes financières) helps cover:
✅ Remaining lease payments after theft or total loss
✅ Early termination fees from the leasing company
✅ Your down payment or first increased payment
✅ The deductible (franchise), depending on the policy

⚠️ Good to know:
• This insurance is optional, but highly recommended
• It’s not always included in your lease contract — check with your provider
• You can also add it through your own car insurer

🚀 Why it’s worth it:
• Peace of mind if your car is lost or destroyed
• Faster recovery — get back on the road quickly
• Tailored cover for LOA and LLD leases

📩 Want to protect your car and your lease?

Understanding Motor Insurance in France and Monaco

If you own a car in France or Monaco, you must have insurance. The basic insurance is called third-party liability. It pays for damage or injury you cause to other people or their property. But it doesn’t cover your car.

You can expand your policy with optional protections such as:
• Coverage for damage to your own vehicle
• Theft and fire protection
• Roadside assistance
• Protection against natural events
• Protection from natural disasters (only in France)
• Insurance for special car parts or personal items

🛠️ How It Works
• The insurance is for the car, not the person. So anyone with a license can occasionally drive it and be covered.
• New drivers (less than 3 years of experience) might have to pay more if there’s an accident.
• Family members are covered if they get hurt.
• Natural disaster coverage only works if the government says it’s an official disaster.

💰 Why It Can Be Expensive
Insurance premiums can seem high due to several factors:
• The system requires universal coverage for the vehicle, regardless of who drives it.
• Insurers may apply deductibles for high-risk drivers but cannot exclude them.
• Taxes on insurance are significant—for example, liability coverage is taxed at 35%.
• Car repairs are getting more expensive every year.

Eggs, Chocolate... and Cover That Counts

🐣💼 This Easter, don’t put all your eggs in one basket... unless they’re properly insured, of course!
As the long weekend rolls in and the chocolate eggs start disappearing, it’s also a good time to think about the things in life worth protecting — your home, your business, your peace of mind.
We may not insure bunnies, but we do take care of what truly matters.
Wishing you a cracking Easter!

📢 [Important Update] Increase in the Natural Disaster Compensation Scheme Rate 🌍💧
Since January 1, 2025, the contribution rate for the Natural Disaster Compensation Scheme (CatNat) in France has been increased. This change aims to strengthen the system’s ability to cover growing climate-related damages.
🔹 What is changing? The mandatory surcharge applied to home, business, and vehicle insurance policies will rise:
✅ Home insurance and business property insurance: The rate increase from 12% to 20%
✅ Vehicle insurance (with fire or theft coverage): The rate rise from 6% to 9%
🔹 Why this increase? Extreme weather events have become more frequent and severe. Over the past 40 years, the annual cost of climate-related claims has quadrupled, from €1.5 billion to €6 billion.
🔹 How will this affect you? Your insurance premium will be adjusted based on these new rates, effective on your contract’s renewal date
🔹 Improved protection Along with this rate adjustment, policyholder protections and compensation mechanisms have been enhanced to provide better coverage for natural disasters.
