How long does it typically take for a small enterprise to transition to a medium-sized business? 🤔
We are pleased to be one of the implementing partners for the MESMER program. The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Recovery and Resilience Program (MESMER) is a program designed to support job creations by providing MSMEs with access to financing to help them grow and become more resilient. By delivering a business development services (BDS) to over 2,000 enterprises in the Tigray region, we have seen firsthand the program’s impact in promoting entrepreneurial mindsets and enhancing skills in financial literacy, particularly in assuring bankability and managing debt. The program has also been instrumental in enabling participant enterprises to expand their business operations, thereby generating more job opportunities for the youth and women.

Highlights of the words MSME participants use to describe the impact include: "With the loan I received from the bank, I can now distribute my products to more than 20 shops on a consignment basis./I can now cultivate a larger area of land through irrigation./I've gained the working capital needed to restart my business operations./I've diversified my product line./I’ve developed an appropriate mindset towards taking & managing loans./ I’m now considered bankable!/I have overcome my fear of taking out loans."

We’re thrilled to have taken part in the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs annual conference in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, themed ‘Unlocking Big Ideas for Small Businesses,’ was truly groundbreaking, bringing together global leaders from the entrepreneurial ecosystem to explore collaborative strategies for strengthening the ecosystem.

የኢትዮጵያ ሒሳብ አያያዝና ኦዲት ቦርድ ባወጣው ማሻሻያ መመርያ መሰረት የጥቃቅን፥ አነስተኛና መካከለኛ ሒሳብ ሪፖርት አቅራቢ አካላት (MSMEs) መለያ መስፈርት ለውጥ ተድርጎበታል። በዚህም መሰረት የጥቃቅን፥ አነስተኛና መካከለኛ ሒሳብ ሪፖርት አቅራቢ አካላት መለያ መስፈርት እንደሚከተለው ነው፥

Small and Medium Enterprises
ከዚህ በታች ከተዘረዘሩት መስፈርቶች ውስጥ ቢያንስ ሁለቱን ያሟላ ማንኛውም ሪፖርት አቅራቢ አካል አነስተኛ እና መካከለኛ (Small and Medium) ድርጅት ነው፥
1. ዓመታዊ ገቢው ብር 50 ሚልዮን (ሀምሳ ሚልዮን) እና ከብር 300 ሚልዮን (ሦስት መቶ ሚልዮን) በታች የሆነ፤
2. ጠቅላላ ሀብቱ ብር 50 ሚልዮን (ሀምሳ ሚልዮን) እና ከብር 200 ሚልዮን (ሁለት መቶ ሚልዮን) በታች የሆነ፤
3. ጠቅላላ ዕዳው ብር 50 ሚልዮን (ሀምሳ ሚልዮን) እና ከብር 200 ሚልዮን (ሁለት መቶ ሚልዮን) በታች የሆነ፤
4. የሠራተኞቹ ብዛት 50 (ሀምሳ) እና ከ 200 (ሁለት መቶ) በታች የሆነ፡፡

ጥቃቅን ድርጅቶች (Micro Enterprises)
ከላይ የተዘረዘሩትን መስፈርቶች የማያሟላ ማንኛውም የአክስዮን ማኅበር፣ የሕብረት ሥራ ዮኒየኖች፣ ቁጥጥር የሚደረግበት የሸማቾች ማኅበር፣ የኢትዮጵያ የምርት ገበያ አባላት፣ ኃላፊነቱ የተወሰነ የግል ማኅበር፣ የሽርክና ማኅበር ወይም የግል ድርጅት እንደ ጥቃቅን ድርጅት ይቆጠራል፡፡

Today is World MSME Day!

World MSME Day is celebrated on June 27 every year (as declared by the UN) with the objective of enhancing MSMEs' contribution. Different countries/bodies use varying classification criteria for MSMEs. The above MSME classification is set by AABE for financial reporting purposes.
