Edukans Ethiopia Hosts Impactful Mental Health Awareness Event at Aysaita CTE
AYSAITA, ETHIOPIA — May 17, 2026 — Today,
Edukans Ethiopia successfully conducted a panel discussion and mental health awareness event at the Aysaita College of Teacher Education (CTE).
The event aimed to raise vital awareness, mobilize stakeholders, and foster open dialogue around mental health within the education sector.
The program featured an expert-led panel including a psychiatrist and a psychologist from Aysaita Hospital & Aysaita CTE respectively.Together with more than 100 participants—including key stakeholders from Afar REB, teacher educators, teacher trainees from the Aysaita CTE, the discussion bridged the gap between health and education perspectives.
Key topics explored during the event included:-
• Understanding mental health from both medical and educational viewpoints.
• Identifying the types, criteria, and common symptoms of mental health issue.s
• Guidance on where and how to seek professional treatment.
