Urgent Vacancy: Finance Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; produce P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis
-Prepare management accounts and board packs with clear insights on revenue, costs, and profitability by product/channel
- Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis (growth, pricing, funding needs)
- Oversee settlement flows with banks, schemes, and partners; ensure timely and accurate payouts to merchants, agents, and customers
- Reconcile transaction data, fees, chargebacks, and reserves; maintain a reliable internal ledger aligned with external reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity positions, and foreign exchange exposure where applicable
- Ensure compliance with AABE, IFRS, and National Bank of Ethiopia / relevant regulatory requirements for payment institutions
- Manage statutory filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, pensions, etc.) and maintain a compliance calendar
- Coordinate internal and external audits; implement and monitor internal controls over financial reporting and operations
- Analyze profitability of products, channels, and key partners (fees, MDR, commissions, interest income)
- Support pricing strategy, commercial agreements, and revenue-sharing models with merchants and partners
- Track unit economics and cost-to-income ratios; identify cost optimization and efficiency opportunities
- Own the accounting system as the single source of financial truth; drive automation in reconciliation, reporting, and documentation
- Build dashboards and reports that give leadership actionable visibility into cash, revenue, and risk
- Mentor and supervise finance and operations staff involved in billing, settlements, and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) strongly preferred 6-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2 years in fintech, payments, banking, or EMI/payment institution environments
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Ethiopian tax/regulatory requirements, Ministry of Revenue and Customs authorities, and payment operations (settlements, reconciliations, chargebacks)
- Proven experience with financial systems (Odoo, ERP/accounting tools), advanced Excel, and building management reports
- High integrity, strong analytical skills, and ability to work cross-functionally with operations, compliance, technology, and commercial teams
