Kacha Digital Financial Services and Hibret Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enable a strategic partnership at Hibret Bank’s headquarters today on April 17, 2026 (Miyazia 9, 2018 E.C.).
CEO of Kacha Digital Financial Services, Mr. Abraham Tilahun, stated that the partnership between banks and FinTechs is a necessity of the times. He added that collaborating with Hibret Bank, one of the country’s largest and most trusted financial institutions, is a timely and significant milestone for the digital finance sector.
Representing Hibret Bank, Chief Digital Banking Officer Mr. Asrat Arega signed the document. During the ceremony, Mr. Asrat highlighted that Hibret Bank has been a pioneer in developing banking technologies through in-house capacity and has contributed significantly to knowledge transfer within the Ethiopian banking industry. He noted that the partnership with Kacha Digital Financial Services will play a vital role in ensuring financial inclusion, encouraging a culture of saving, and streamlining credit services.
The partnership leverages Hibret Bank’s established financial trust and Kacha’s innovative FinTech capabilities to accelerate the adoption of digital financial services across Addis Ababa and Ethiopia. By focusing on financial inclusion the collaboration aims to modernize the banking experience and drive a more accessible digital economy for all.
