With house sales and prices in Spain reported to rise in 2018 we can look positively into the New Year

Anticipa, one of Spain’s largest real estate companies, stated that sales could rise by over 9% next year

In real numbers, reports have been made of a potential 526,000 units being sold, 45,000 more than were sold this year

It is also claimed that house prices are expected to increase by an encouraging 6.9% by the end of this year and that 2018 prices will rise by over 6%

Two Costa del Sol hospitals named among the best in Spain

Both the Carlos Haya and the Quiron Salud Malaga were named on the fourth edition of the Health Reputation Monitor (MRS), lists highlighting the best private and public hospitals in the country.

The lists are compiled by Merco, a Corporate Reputation Managerial Monitor, alongside a reported 3,200 experts in the field, including doctors, nurses, health associations, patients, managers and health journalists.

75 hospitals appear in the list of the best public hospitals in Spain, while the private list is reduced to 25.

The list of the top ten public hospitals is dominated by clinics based in Madrid and Barcelona, with the number one spot going to University Hospital La Paz in Madrid.

Marbella is chosen to host 2018 Davis Cup

MARBELLA has been chosen to host the first round of the Davis Cup between Spain and Great Britain in February next year.

The tournament will be hosted at the Puente Romano Tennis Club between February 2 and 4 and will the third time that the Davis Cup has been hosted in the City, the first since 2009.

Marbella had faced stiff competition from Granada to host the famous tennis tournament, but it was decided yesterday by the RFET Board of Directors at a meeting in Zaragoza that it would be Marbella who would host the event.

In a statement released on the Ayuntamiento de Marbella Website, Mayor of Marbella Angeles Munoz thanked citizens and institutions of Marbella for their support

She said: "We have a magnificent city and we have shown that we have enough experience to organise events of a scale such as the Davis Cup.”

Marbella Council has also reportedly proposed the extension of the Puente Romano grandstand prior to the event, in order to accommodate 9,000 fans.
