Sainsbury is selling this hoover for £55. They have an Argos inside the store that is selling the exact same model for £50. Why do Sainsbury have to be such arseholes? I know, this really is an old man rant.

Well would you jump into my grave as quick? The owner of the shop next to the Buzz Bar has already told us he'll be changing currency (illegally of course) from Monday.

Can I ask, please do not use him. He has no licence to do this, so I'll take the opportunity to direct you to somebody who is.

Around the corner from us (on the beach path) Matthew from Admiral has a shop that will change your cash. As you know Admiral have been here even longer than us and do have the necessary licences.

I didn't need anything to make my blood boil any more than it is. These people are just parasites.

It is with very heavy hearts that unfortunately, as from 1st August 2022, Red Arrow Money Exchange will be closed for business. This is not a decision we have made ourselves, but a decision by the landlords to not offer us a new lease on the property. The units on our level (with the exception of the one nearest the Buzz Bar) are to be combined and a metro supermarket will be opening.
We have been in this area for sixteen years now and would like to think we have made our mark in the community. When we first arrived in 2006 we didn't have much of a clue, but what an adventure it's been. As you all know, reality always turns out to be different to how you thought it was going to be. It's not always been great and anyone over here who tells you any different are just fooling themselves. Tenerife is no different to anywhere else and we have had more than our fair share of bumps in the road. Thankfully they've been outweighed by the good times. We can't think of a better place to have had a business. After all, how many people can stand outside their shop and see Spain's highest peak and the Atlantic Ocean?
But the most important thing about our time spent here is, we have met and befriended so many lovely people (well mostly) who have been our customers (yes, we're talking about you lot). We cannot thank you enough for the support and loyalty over the years and it's difficult to put into words how much we appreciate it. We always tried to do our best and like to think that we didn't just have a shop, but somewhere you could visit and have a good old chinwag.
We're going to miss our day to day chums, especially our pals from the Buzz Bar who have been like brothers and sisters to us. But most of all we'll miss the shop which has provided us not only with a living for the last sixteen years, but a great lifestyle.
Please keep an eye out for some more posts in the coming days. People who have bookings with us don't worry, we aren't going anywhere yet. If we haven't contacted you already, we will very soon.

Important Notice

Hi everyone.

As we get closer to the time that paper notes will no longer be accepted in the UK (30 September 2022), the date on which they stop accepting them in Spain will be a lot sooner.

If you've been hoarding your paper notes for your holiday, I strongly advise you change them at your local bank (if it hasn't been shut down) for the new vinyl ones.

We are unlikely to be able to accept them from July onwards. Some exchanges have already stopped accepting them.

Important Announcement

It has just been announced that from 4.00 am Friday (18th) morning, locator forms will not be required to travel back to the UK.

Anybody travelling on or after this date who has submitted paperwork to us, please return to the shop where you will be given a full refund for the monies already paid.

Although restrictions have been lifted in the UK, it seems that the requirement for locator forms is only under review at this moment and still mandatory to return to the UK.

It is likely to stay in place until just before Easter according to the information I can find. The rumour was that they would cease on the 24th February.
