Dana Update from Generali.

We first of all wish to tell you that all of us at Generali have been really shocked by these events.

We are contacting you to inform you that claims resulting from the DANA are solely the responsibility of the Insurance Compensation Consortium. Nonetheless, given the scale of the disaster, the Consortium has requested the assistance of insurance companies to conduct the necessary procedures, and resolve matters as soon as possible.

We would therefore like to explain the role played by Generali in this process, as this information will be of use if you have a claim resulting from the DANA event:

• Generali Motor assistance (+34) 900 101 369
• Generali Home assistance (+34) 900 556 000

1. We are providing the Consortium with full information to handle
your claim.

2. Together with the Consortium, we are sending loss adjusters to
evaluate the damage.

3. If the loss adjuster has not yet contacted you, this will be because
of the considerable number of ongoing claims, and we cannot tell
you when the precise date will be. You should not worry, though,
as your claim has already been opened, and the Consortium
will handle it as soon as possible.

4. If you can, we would advise you to take photographs and videos
of the damage suffered, to be handed to the loss adjuster when
they arrive.

5. Once the loss adjuster has evaluated the damage, they will pass
the valuation on to the Consortium, which will analyse the
claim and proceed to pay the compensation into your bank
account. We are aware that the Consortium has already begun
to make payments, but there are a great many procedures taking
place at the moment.

If you have a claim involving damage associated with the flooding caused by the DANA, then please be informed that we can declare the claim in your name. All you need to do is to complete the following form, authorising Generali to gather the necessary information, and we will perform all the administrative procedures for you in connection with the compensation you are entitled to as a consequence of this horrific event.

Or if you prefer, you can also ask us to handle your claim via the following phone numbers:
• Generali Motor assistance (+34) 900 101 369
• Generali Home assistance (+34) 900 556 000

FIRSTLY MY HEART FELT CONDOLANCES GO TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LOVED ONES DURING THE FLOODS IN VALENCIA AND SURROUNDING AREA. As you are probably aware I am also a DGS qualified insurance broker www.expatinsurespain.com Please see below in the event of a natural disaster what you need to do with regards to a claim.
The Insurance Compensation Consortium comes into operation
Many have lost their homes, been devastated by water and covered in mud, or worse, have lost loved ones. The Spanish Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Entities (UNESPA), the Insurance Compensation Consortium and Agroseguro (CCS) they have a website that explains how the damages caused are compensated due to natural phenomena on assets and insured persons in the country.
By having basic home or car insurance, or another element, and being up to date with payments, both insurers and the consortium can now act. It is not necessary to have a complete or comprehensive policy that specifically covers these risks. Although it is still early to catalogue the category of damages.
The CCS will compensate the damage caused to the insured persons in accordance with the insured capital and the clauses of the insurance contract of the affected party. In addition, damage to insured property, whether it is homes or communities of owners; motor vehicles; office premises; commercial and service establishments and other properties for non-industrial use; industries; and civil works and infrastructure, whether all the aforementioned assets were privately or publicly owned.
The CCS compensates both material damage caused by the flood and non-material damage resulting from it, such as the loss of rents for property owners, accommodation expenses derived from the uninhabitability of the home, or the loss of income due to the paralysis of commercial, service or industrial establishments, all of this in the manner provided for in the insurance contract of the affected person.
You can contact us at the toll-free telephone number 900 222 665 or fill out the same information online on the CCS ( websitewww.consorseguros.es). The CCS will record and manage all compensation requests it receives from policyholders, even if the 7-day period provided for in insurance legislation had elapsed since the damage occurred
Insurers remind those affected of a series of recommendations how to take photographs and videos of damage before cleaning or repairing; take an inventory of the damage; save all tickets with expenses and above all contact the company as soon as possible. Material damage due to flooding, understood as flooding of the land caused by the direct action of rainwater, overflowing of rivers and estuaries, will be compensated by the Insurance Compensation Consortium.

The Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) recalls that, as of 1 January 2024, personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) placed on the market must comply with a series of requirements set out in the Technical Characteristics Manual, published in the Official State Gazette on January 21, 2022.

On its website you can find the brands and models that have already been certified and that meet all the requirements of the aforementioned manual.

The maximum speed at which they can drive is 25 km/h, the speed at which the engine will stop propelling the vehicle. It may not be tampered with.

• ·You must have a monitor to display the speed and battery level.

• ·They will have two independent brakes. Vehicles with more than 2 wheels must be equipped with a parking brake.

• ·They must be equipped with front (white), on both sides (white or auto yellow) and rear (red) reflectors. In addition, the brake light must be differentiated or combined with the rear light.

• ·For PMVs for the transport of goods or other services, they must have yellow side reflectors and red rear reflectors on the edges and vertices of the load. They must also have turn signals, mirrors and reversing assist.

• ·Acoustic warning for all types of PMVs.
