the first council tax notifications for 2.026 have arrived at the post office - watch out for yours. As always, they do not all arrive in one go, so it might take a week or two until the majority will have arrived. Due date will be some point in September.

The first Council Rate (IBI 2025) notifications have arrived. Last day to realize the payment is the 16th of September.
Please take into account: if you have setup direct debit for this payment, USUALLY (in recent years) they charge the corresponding amount already in the last week of July or in the first 2 weeks of August. Hence, check before the due-date that the amount has been charged. Not receiving the notification does not mean you don't have to pay and it is not an excuse to avoid the extra-fees and interest rates. The department changed their computer system and the website earlier this year and there have been many complaints. Up to now it is not yet possible to go online and print out the document yourself (it is planned but not yet implemented and it will be required to have a digital certificate).

From today it is possible to pay tax invoices at the CORREOS post office next door (her opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 10:00h; after 10h she starts to deliver the correspondence to the houses so she will be in and out). The payments can be made in cash or with card. In case you pay in cash please bring the amount as precisely as possible ;).
