In 2026, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the postgraduate studies in at UIC Barcelona.

And we want to celebrate it properly: by bringing together the entire community that has made this journey possible. A community made up of more than 1,000 Alumni UIC Barcelona from 80 nationalities, together with a network of 300 collaborators and more than 500 companies and cultural institutions.

Y queremos celebrarlo como merece: reuniendo a toda la comunidad que ha hecho posible este recorrido.

Una comunidad formada por más de 1000 alumni de 80 nacionalidades, junto con una red de 300 colaboradores y más de 500 empresas e instituciones culturales.

| Last Friday, February 20th, students from the Máster Universitario en Gestión Cultural UIC Barcelona at UIC Barcelona took part in the event “Possible Futures in Cultural Management” at , a cultural research centre run by Trànsit Projectes.

This space provided the perfect setting to reflect on the complexity of the cultural sector and the importance of bringing together diverse professional journeys and perspectives.

The session featured the roundtable “Imagining Yourself as a Cultural Manager: Career Paths and Decisions”, with inspiring contributions from Elena Alekseeva (Communication Director at OFFF Festival and Founder of ), Anita Lüscher Luscher (Tour Organizer at MEDITERRÁNEA and Founder of LÜ project management), Danielle Bishop (Consultant in International Projects at Transit Projectes) and AlbertoRizzo (Artistic Director of MUTIS Festival).

The programme also included a professional speed-dating session and a cultural projects fair with organisations such as APGCC, Youz Talent, MUTIS Festival, Manso Espacio and Eldistrito, as well as an informal “futureworking” space designed to encourage dialogue and exchange.

This professional encounter gave students the opportunity to connect their academic training with real-world practice, engage with cultural management students from other universities in the city, and gain deeper insight into the challenges of building a career in the cultural field.

The event was co-organised by Ana Carolina Stanger Mazzotini, a Master’s student, during her internship at hashtag , under the mentoring of hashtag .

On the 2nd of December, our students from the Master’s in Arts and Cultural Management (UIC Barcelona) attended the masterclass “Resisting Oppression through Narratives: Cameroon through the Cinematic Lens of Jean-Marie Teno” at the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

They explored how filmmaker Jean-Marie Teno uses cinema to challenge dominant narratives, document collective memory, and defend freedom of expression. His films work offer a powerful starting point for discussing independent filmmaking and the realities faced by creatives working under political and economic pressure.
