This detail scene, from the Papyrus of Hunefer (c. 1275 BCE), shows the scribe Hunefer's heart being weighed on the scale of Maat against the feather of truth, by the jackal-headed Anubis. The ibis-headed Thoth, scribe of the gods, records the result. If his heart equals exactly the weight of the feather, Hunefer is allowed to pass into the afterlife. If not, he is eaten by the waiting chimeric devouring creature Ammit composed of the deadly crocodile, lion, and hippopotamus. Vignettes such as these were a common illustration in Egyptian books of the dead.

يُظهر هذا المشهد التفصيلي ، المأخوذ من بردية هونيفر (حوالي 1275 قبل الميلاد) ، قلب الكاتب هونيفر يزن على مقياس ماعت مقابل ريشة الحقيقة ، بواسطة أنوبيس برأس ابن آوى. يسجل تحوت برأس أبو منجل ، كاتب الآلهة ، النتيجة. إذا كان قلبه يساوي وزن الريشة بالضبط ، يُسمح لهونيفر بالمرور إلى الآخرة.
كانت المقالات القصيرة مثل هذه توضيحًا شائعًا في كتب الموتى المصرية.

The temple of Kom Ombo
Construction on Kom Ombo temple was started in 180-145 BC, and was completed in 47-44 BC. It was Ptolemy III who started building it. it is dedicated to two gods, Sobek (Crocodile god), and Horus. Kom Ombo temple is a double temple, which means it is dedicated to two gods.
