When I studied automotive engineering at Weber State University (1989-1995), two companies stood out: Cadillac with its fancy sensors and Toyota with their Kaizen and Just-In-Time methods. Toyota’s legacy as a pioneer, from the first Yaris hybrid to the hydrogen-powered Corolla Cross with a 90-second refueling time, is remarkable. But with Chinese automakers like BYD moving fast, can Toyota’s heritage of quality and reliability keep them competitive? Exciting times for the automotive world!
