Advancing Africa’s insurance and risk landscape.

AfrexInsure took part in the IAIS - International Association of Insurance Supervisors Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Seminar 2026 in Dakar, Senegal, engaging regulators and industry leaders on the future of insurance in a rapidly evolving global environment.

Lesley Ndlovu, CEO, AfrexInsure, delivered a keynote on financing Africa’s trade future, outlining how insurance and reinsurance can de-risk investments, unlock capital, and support sustainable growth under the AfCFTA.

He also contributed to discussions on strengthening underwriting capacity across the continent, focusing on improving risk retention and building a more self-reliant African insurance ecosystem.

Nana Odei, Senior Manager, Business Development, AfrexInsure, moderated a session on climate-related risks, guiding conversations on closing the protection gap, enhancing resilience, and scaling climate insurance solutions.

These engagements highlight AfrexInsure’s role in shaping a stronger, more resilient insurance market, aligned with Afreximbank’s mandate to support trade, investment, and economic transformation across Africa.
