As a conclusion to the H2-Markets Winter School 2025, we were proud to welcome participants to Saint-Gobain Glass Egypt’s factory in Ain Sokhna — where innovation, sustainability, and industrial excellence come to life. 🌍✨

The H2-Markets Project, funded by DAAD, aims to create practice-oriented programs supporting the green hydrogen economy. It brings together the University of Cologne (Germany), University of Mohammed V (Morocco), The British University in Egypt, and The American University in Cairo, building a strong bridge between academia and industry through master-level modules, the H2-Markets Skills Certificate, internships, and regional Summer & Winter Schools.

During the visit, participants explored how
Saint-Gobain integrates advanced manufacturing technologies with tangible sustainability practices — including the on-site solar farm and recycled water management processes — to reduce environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.

Production includes clear glass (SGG PLANILUX®), tinted glass (SGG PARSOL®) and online coated glass (SGG REFLECTASOL®) with solar control properties and an appealing reflective effect.
