The round-table shed light on the key macroeconomic and fiscal policy developments in light of the proposed annual budget for FY 2021/22; along with insights on key legislative updates.

OF COVID-19 ON HOUSEHOLDS

THE CENTRAL AGENCY FOR PUBLIC MOBILIZATION AND
STATISTICS (CAPMAS) has issued the second edition of its study
analyzing the impact of COVID-19 on Egyptian households, with the aim of
assessing the effectiveness of the measures taken by the government to
combat the pandemic. This edition demonstrates the changes that occurred
following the issuance of the first edition of the study and the changes that
that occurred from the start of the pandemic until 20 September. To note,
the data was collected in three periods: the first period starting from
February until May, the second comprising data recorded during June and
July, and the third period starting from August till 20 September.

The report is divided into 5 sections:
I The Households’ Information Regarding COVID-19 Effects
I The Impact of COVID-19 on Labor Employment
I The Impact of COVID-19 on Egyptian Households’ Consumption Pattern
I Households’ Expectations of Income in the Upcoming 3 Months

As aggressive as COVID 19 is, It has not let N Gage deviate from core commitment to transfer knowledge. Last week, 7 outstanding young leaders concluded our 5th edition of N Gage multidimensional summer internship program. Seen as one of Cairo’s most solicited programs, and responsibly delivered mostly online, our curriculum has allowed Yassmina Orban (AUC-Political Science Major), Mariam Abuzekry (AUC-Political Science Major), Talall El Naggar (Cairo University-Economics Major), Ahmed Kamal (AUC-Economics Major), Omar Atef (AUC-Mechanical Engineering Major), Yehia Shaheen (AUC-Economics Major) and Abdel Rahman Megawer (NYU Abu Dhabi-Economics Major)solid understanding of the fundamentals of government affairs, public policy, stakeholders engagement and trade policy across different industries and markets in the Middle East and North Africa, I was personally impressed by their skills, admired their desire for knowledge and fascinated by their passion and love for country each in his own way.
