Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future
On World Food Day 2025, Qalaa Holdings reaffirms its belief that food security and sustainability go hand in hand—fostering ecosystems of growth and resilience that connect Egypt’s fertile soil to regional and global markets.
Dina Farms, our agrifood subsidiary, is Egypt and North Africa’s largest fully integrated farm, spanning 5,600 acres, with 70% under cultivation. From wheat and sugar beet to citrus, mangoes, and olives, Dina Farms demonstrates how productivity and environmental stewardship coexist. Its operations rely on 49 pivot irrigation systems, drip irrigation networks, and solar PV units that provide 25% of its energy needs. In line with our circular economy approach, Dina Farms supplies ECARU with manure feedstock, processed into 100,000–130,000 tons of organic compost annually, reinforcing sustainable and efficient farming practices.
Driving local production and milk self-sufficiency, Dina Farms produces 70% of Egypt’s fresh milk from a herd of 15,000 Holstein Friesian cows, setting a benchmark for quality and sustainability. Through ICDP’s “Farm-to-Table” portfolio, which offers over 90 products across 17 categories, we continue to strengthen local production and ensure that nutritious food reaches millions of Egyptian households.
Complementing this, our EGP 400 million dried herbs facility boosts Egypt’s export capacity, strategically positioned to meet rising global demand for premium dried herbs with projected annual exports of USD 20 million.
By integrating innovation, resource efficiency, and responsible investment, we are cultivating progress, empowering farmers, and protecting resources—advancing Egypt’s Vision 2030 and building a food-secure, sustainable future, because a resilient tomorrow begins with the choices we grow today.
