التعيين جاء في اطار خطوات تستهدف الاستفادة من خبرات ا/لميس الممتدة في القطاعات المالية والمصرفية، واستراتيجيات التنمية المستدامة والمسؤولية المجتمعية.

ويأتي تعيين لميس نجم في إطار دعم الجهاز بكفاءات وطنية تمتلك خبرات متنوعة وقدرة على الربط بين الأبعاد الاقتصادية والاستثمارية وحقوق الملكية الفكرية، بما يسهم في تعظيم القيمة الاقتصادية للأصول الفكرية،

وتمتلك لميس نجم مسيرة مهنية تمتد لأكثر من 35 عامًا في القطاع المصرفي والمجال التنموي، شغلت خلالها عددًا من المناصب القيادية والاستشارية، من بينها مستشار رئيس الهيئة العامة للرقابة المالية، ومستشار

المسؤولية المجتمعية لمحافظ البنك المركزي المصري، إلى جانب توليها رئاسة لجنة التنمية المستدامة باتحاد بنوك مصر منذ عام 2020.

We're proud to celebrate another milestone achieved by one of our valued members.

Congratulations to Mr. Samer Gharaibeh, Founder and CEO, Mylerz Co and the Mylerz team on this achievement. We wish them continued success and growth.

Cairo-based last-mile delivery and fulfillment firm mylerz Co has raised more than EGP 100 mn in debt and equity from existing shareholders, with no new investors joining the round. The capital will go toward working capital, balance sheet support, and infrastructure expansion across Egypt.

Mylerz is opening new hubs in Sharm El Sheikh and Upper Egypt, adding to its existing network of 26 sites nationwide, with plans to exceed 30 hubs soon. North Africa expansion plans announced in 2022 are on ice, with Gharaibeh saying returns in Egypt are faster than any new geography.

The company's client base has grown more than 200% over two years to over 2k. Mylerz is profitable and growing monthly, with an IPO or similar next step on the horizon once EBITDA reaches the right level, founder and CEO Samer Gharaibeh told EnterpriseAM.

إذا استثمر ملاك أعمال 100 ألف دولار عبر اتفاقية SAFE، فلن يحصل على أسهم فورًا. وعندما تنجح الشركة لاحقًا وتجمع تمويلًا جديدًا بقيمة شركة تبلغ 5 ملايين دولار، تتحول اتفاقية SAFE إلى أسهم وفق الشروط المتفق عليها (مثل خصم على سعر السهم أو حد أقصى للتقييم)، فيصبح المستثمر شريكًا في الشركة.

Economically, a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) is a financing instrument used by angel investors to support early-stage startups without requiring the company’s valuation to be determined at the time of investment. Instead, it grants investors the right to receive equity in the company at a future financing round under agreed terms.

Engineer Samir El Alaily, Founder of the Egyptian Business Angels Association, explained that angel financing can become even more effective by establishing a dedicated platform for trading shares of these startups. Such a platform would enhance liquidity, create clearer exit opportunities for investors, and strengthen the overall angel investment ecosystem, making future equity agreements like SAFE more beneficial for both investors and entrepreneurs.

“Malaikah”, held its monthly interactive session entitled: “Is Sports the Next Big Investment Goldmine or a Risky Game”.
The esteemed panelists, Malaikah members and guests came together to discuss the development of the sports sector and the new vital role it is currently playing in taking part in shaping the economy of the country.
Panelists highlighted the fact that sports sector in Egypt is currently experiencing significant growth, with investments exceeding EGP 40 billion between 2018 and 2022 with further plans to invest LE 30 billion from the private sector alongside LE 15 billion from the state. Key areas include infrastructure development, sports tourism, and localizing sports manufacturing, with the goal of increasing sports' contribution to GDP to 3% by 2032.
Eng. Samir El Alaily, Chairman, Malaikah shared his views presenting examples from countries within the region, as well as highlighting few numbers and indicators portraying the opportunities and the challenges from the investors points of views.
Egypt is leveraging its climate and facilities to promote sports tourism, including football, Padel, tennis, and other sports, which boost local businesses.
The extremely interactive discussion also highlighted the views of the investors attending the session, whether investing in this arising sector is attractive or risky.

Malaikah was pleased to give Mr. Loay El-Shawarby , Founder and CEO of El Shawarby Law Firm, and member of Malaikah the award of “Angel Investor of the Year”, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and impactful role in supporting Egypt’s startup ecosystem through active investments and strategic expertise.

An extremely interesting talk about “Exploring Mediatech in Egypt…initial investments” took place at Investia Group and Malaikah’s annual iftar.
The session shed light on how media technology encompasses digital tools, platforms, and systems from smartphones to AI that have revolutionized how content is created, distributed, and consumed, shifting media from the traditional broadcast to user-generated, and personalized digital experiences. Key advancements include streaming, social media, and real-time global, interactive communication. The rise of the internet in the 1990s transformed computers into mass media tools for social networking and entertainment then came the next step where consumption has moved from print to digital, with streaming services like Netflix etc..changing content delivery.
Panelists also delved into the fact where modern media allows users to be both creators and consumers, enabling, for example, the sharing of original content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram etc…then the evolving AI and data integration since 2010 that has enabled intelligent content recommendations and automated editing, while big data helps optimize content production.
